Clinical Service for Patients: Obstetric Endocrinology

The large obstetric department at the Hammersmith and Queen Charlotte's Hospitals provides a valuable antenatal endocrinology and diabetes service.

Dr Anne Dornhorst provides is the medical lead for the management of women with diabetic pregnancies, she has a clinical and research interest in diabetes in pregnancy and is an advisor for a number of Government agencies on this subject.

Dr. Catherine Williamson is a consultant obstetric physician and has a specialist interest in obstetric endocrinology. Queen Charlotte's, along with Institute for Reproductive and Developmental Biology (IRDB) have just been built on the Hammersmith Site.

Influential figures in Obstetric medicine, such as Professor Malcolm Parker, Professor Stephen Franks and Professor Robert Winston are part of the new Department. This will lead to an increase in clinical and academic collaboration between Obstetric Medicine and Endocrinology.
